About
For years, Preview Night! founder and editor Brian Guy has written about the shows he has attended. This usually involved sharing some pictures (not of the performance) on social media and writing about his favorite parts of the show. The motivation was to encourage other people to go experience the joy that Brian had just experienced.
“Seeing an understudy for the Evan Hansen character in Dear Evan Hansen perform his debut mid-show after being rushed to the theatre during a 40 minute stage hold, hearing the cast and crew cheer for him backstage as he went on stage for the first time, and then watching him breakdown in tears at the end of show is just the most perfect live theatre experience,” says Brian, “and I want others to understand that when things go ‘wrong’ in a live Broadway show (stage holds during a show are rare), this is exactly part of the amazing experience, the humanity, and the joy of live theatre! You just can’t get this same experience from perfectly edited film or television.”
As Brian started writing more about shows, he thought why not make this a formal venture? Thus, Preview Night! was born.
